Constriction

As we all face struggles in our lives they can often be brushed to the side. Although at a surface level 'the kitchen floor' appears clean, as we start to look underneath the cupboards the mess still remains. Simple complexities, topics at a superficial level will often not provoke much thought, however if like me you can see yourself dwelling on certain situations in a negative light they can materialise in to burdensome, oppressive thoughts and feelings.

Understanding why these thoughts occur is always going to be difficult, but instead of always allowing these thoughts to be 'swept' away we can change where they are put. Some negative thoughts are best placed in the bin while others can teach us a valuable lesson as we reframe our way of thinking.

Modern times have caused us all to adapt at an accelerated rate, most people will not pay any attention to this and will continue to live their life free from the snake. Others will constantly feel it around their necks, continuing to ignore the snake will only cause it to wrap tighter, demanding more attention. If we can learn to live with the serpent we find ourselves understanding it better. As it bothers me constantly I am trying to acknowledge it more and more. Satisfying the snake requires time and effort but with continual attention it will slowly release, allowing us to see clearly, free from the restraint that it has had.
